Tommy Edman smacked a three-run homer and drove in five, while Nolan Gorman belted a grand slam for the Redbirds, who finished 3-and-4 on their homestand and improved to 8-and-11 overall. Jake Woodford picked up his first win after giving up four runs in five frames. St. Louis sends Steven Matz to the mound against the Mariners in Seattle tomorrow.

(Cincinnati, OH) — The Reds dropped their series finale to the Rays following an 8-0 shutout defeat in Cincinnati. Levi Stoudt got the loss after surrendering seven runs on nine hits over four innings. Jose Barrero went one-for-three with a walk for Cincy, which fell to 7-and-11. The Reds are last in the NL Central. Cincinnati heads to Pittsburgh tonight for the first of a four-game series against the Pirates. Luke Weaver takes the mound for Cincy.
