(Cincinnati, OH) — The Reds got blown out by the Rays 10-0 in Cincinnati. Nick Lodolo got the loss after surrendering eight runs on 12 hits over four-plus innings. Curt Casali had two of Cincy’s four hits in the game. Cincinnati dropped to 7-and-10 and is last in the NL Central. The Reds send Levi Stoudt to the mound today while Tampa counters with Drew Rasmussen.

(St. Louis, MO) — The St. Louis Cardinals gave up six runs in the top of the fourth during an 8-7 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Busch Stadium. St. Louis got out to an early 2-0 lead but trailed 7-2 after the fourth inning outburst. The Cardinals rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth, but they left the tying run at first. Jake Woodford takes the mound for the Cardinals against the Diamondbacks this afternoon.

(Cincinnati, OH) — Meanwhile, the Reds are locking down one of their aces for the foreseeable future. ESPN reports Hunter Greene has agreed to a six-year, 53-million-dollar contract extension to stay in Cincinnati. The contract includes a seventh-year option, which would make Greene a free agent in his age-29 season if its picked up. The 23-year-old started 24 games for the Reds last season and had a 4.44 ERA and 164 strike outs over 125-plus innings pitched.
