Trigg students chosen as Governor’s Scholars

Four Trigg County High School students have been chosen as Governor’s Scholars.

The Trigg County Public School System says Rhett Plymale, Riley Thompson, Sadie Utter and Zoe Miller will participate this summer in an intensive, all-immersive 5-week learning experience on one of three Kentucky college campuses.

According to the Governor’s Scholars Program website,  the program originated in 1983 as a result of Kentucky leaders’ concerns that the state’s “best and brightest” were leaving the Commonwealth to pursue educational and career opportunities elsewhere without fully understanding the potential of their talents at home.
