The Christian County School System has announced the appointment of Kevin Crider as the interim principal at Christian County High School.
A news release says the decision was made by Superintendent Chris Bentzel following consultation with the school’s site based decision-making council.
Crider most recently served as the district’s consolidation coordinator.
Crider is a graduate of Christian County High School and began his 24-year teaching career at CCHS in 1999. He taught and served as head baseball coach, winning the state championship in 2004.
He transitioned to athletics director in 2006 for two years before moving into the role of assistant principal at CCHS in 2008.
Crider was selected as principal of Christian County Middle School in 2015, where he continued until accepting the position of consolidation coordinator with the district last year.
Bentzel says, “With his successful leadership at Christian County Middle and his familiarity with the student body, Mr. Crider is the right person to fill the position of interim principal at Christian County High School. His knowledge and expertise will be an invaluable asset as we continue to transform our high school experience in Christian County for all students.”
Crider is quoted as saying, “Being a graduate, former teacher, coach and assistant principal at CCHS, I understand the rich tradition of Christian County and what it means to be a Colonel. I look forward to working closely with our students, teachers, Mrs. Campbell at HHS, Mrs. Knight at Gateway, other administrators and our community to provide the best educational experience for all our students and staff.”
