The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and Hopkinsville Police Department are partnering to offer women an after-hours location to obtain an emergency protective order.
Women can now go to the Hopkinsville Police Department lobby, use the telephone to call ECC and a deputy will be dispatched to that location to assist with the issuance of an EPO.
Sheriff Tyler DeArmond says they have spent the last several months getting the necessary equipment and training to make the process as smooth as possible, but he urges patience with them as this part of the process is still new to the deputies.
Males will continue to receive after-hour EPO services at the Christian County Jail.
