The 7th Annual Summer Salute Festival in downtown Hopkinsville in August will see two headline acts, starting with STARSHIP on August 25.
STARSHIP—featuring Mickey Thomas—is known for their hits “We Built this City”, “Sara” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” and will take the main stage in front of the Christian County Justice Center. This year will also feature two large screens on either side of the stage, to better accommodate the huge crowd sizes the concerts have supported in the past.
One can expect to hear hits from STARSHIP and Jefferson Starship at STARSHIP’s live performance this summer, as well as a few selections from Jefferson Airplane as a nod to both band’s beginnings.
The headline musical act for Saturday, August 26, is set to be announced next week.
The Summer Salute is already sold out of vendor spaces, and updates on the festival can be found on the Hoptown Summer Salute Facebook page.
