Christian Fiscal Court worked quickly through a routine agenda Tuesday, but heard from the Military Affairs Committee and proclaimed April as Month of the Military Child.
Several Fort Campbell garrison officials were on hand as Christian County Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam and Mayor J.R. Knight read the proclamation, with Judge Gilliam noting that children of military families face unique challenges.
Meanwhile, Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Director Kristi Murtha talked about the importance of Christian County being a Purple Star County, as every school has made accommodations to better serve military children.
Magistrate Philip Peterson noted this is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and praised the ECC dispatchers who answer 911 calls 24 hours a day.
In other action, court unanimously approved a county road aid cooperative program agreement and resolution.
