NWS expects tranquil weather for work week

After multiple severe weather events in the last few weeks, it’s appearing a more tranquil weather pattern is settling into western Kentucky.

During the weekly conference call Monday, National Weather Service in Paducah Meteorologist Keith Cooley said the area is getting a much-needed break from wind and storms through the workweek.

A chance of rain arrives Saturday, but it’s not looking to be a major severe weather or heavy rain event at this time.

The long-range outlook shows next week to be cooler than normal with near average precipitation.

The cold front over the weekend will also bring high temperatures into the 60’s by Sunday.
