After a renovation process slowed by the pandemic, Second Baptist Church will worship in its much-improved sanctuary Easter Sunday morning for the first time in about three and a half years.
Pastor David Tucker says their plans in 2019 got completely derailed by the pandemic, inflation and the many other issues that have affected every area of society.
They’ve been able to work through those issues to get back inside the sanctuary and he says the new sanctuary functions better with improved sound systems and video boards and is more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.
It’s not the end of the work, however, as the next phase of the plans include construction of a new children’s ministry building that will also house other amenities for the church.
Second Baptist Church has been around for over a century in Hopkinsville and the current sanctuary was constructed in 1973.
