Gov. talks economic development announcements, signs bills

Governor Andy Beshear highlighted recent economic development announcements during his weekly Team Kentucky update Friday morning and signed legislation that will affect Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.

He noted Microvast Advanced Membrane will bring 562 jobs with its $504 million investment in Commerce Park #2 that’s set to open in March of 2025.

Toyota Boyshuku will create 157 new jobs with a $225 million investment set to open next summer in South Park.

Meanwhile, the governor signed House Bill 21, which allows any veteran to be buried at one of Kentucky’s veterans cemeteries.

The governor also signed legislation that allows Kentuckians without a permanent address to get a driver’s license.
