Power outages and a few minor issues were reported after a line of severe thunderstorms blew across the Pennyrile region of western Kentucky Wednesday afternoon.
Part of Trigg County was briefly
under a tornado warning and the entire region was under a severe thunderstorm warning at one time.
Over 3,400 Pennyrile Electric members in Trigg County lost power during the storm, while only 50 in Christian County were put in the dark.
Hopkinsville Electric System General Manager Jeff Hurd was glad to report no outages and Kentucky Utilities customers in Christian County also fared well.
Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham reported a tree down across Dawson Springs Road and the railroad crossing arms at Skyline Drive became entangled in wire and were briefly over the tracks.
Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith did not have any damage reports.
