(Atlanta, GA) — The Braves are planning to retire the number of one of their franchise greats. Andruw Jones will have his number-25 jersey retired at a pregame ceremony at Truist Park on September 9th before the Braves take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jones will be the 11th player in franchise history to have his number retired. The five-time All-Star played 12 seasons with Atlanta from 1996 to 2007. The outfielder batted .263 with 368 home runs and over 11-hundred RBI during his tenure with the Braves. Jones joins Hank Aaron, Bobby Cox, Tom Glavine, Chipper Jones, Greg Maddux, Eddie Mathews, Dale Murphy, Phil Niekro, John Smoltz and Warren Spahn as players to have their number retired by Atlanta.
