Enhanced risk for severe weather Friday

Western Kentucky and middle Tennessee are part of a large area under an enhanced risk for severe weather Friday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service in Paducah says damaging winds will be the primary threat, though a few isolated tornadoes will be possible.

A lot is still to be determined, including timing of the storm system and whether there will be enough instability in the atmosphere to produce severe storms.

Wind gusts outside of any thunderstorms may approach 40 mph.
