Girl Scout cookies have arrived in Hopkinsville, Elkton, Cadiz

Girl Scout cookies have arrived in the southern Pennyrile region and you’re likely to see those tasty delights for sale in the coming weekends outside your favorite stores.

Cecelia Cloos is the volunteer Service Unit Manager for troops comprised of 200 girls in Christian, Todd and Trigg counties and says they received 15,000 cases of cookies Friday.

Walmart and Kroger are the traditional big-seller locations for the cookies, but troop leaders have the latitude to ask managers at other locations if they can set up.

Tagalongs remains one of the most popular cookies and Cloos says some of the newer cookies are also moving up.

Troops get to use a portion of their sales revenue however they see fit, whether that be for a trip, uniforms or something else.

If you aren’t able to make it to one of the booths over the weekend, you can contact your favorite girl scout and purchase from them directly.

Cloos says they’re currently recruiting new girls and parents for an extended year membership and anyone interested should visit gskentuckiana.org.
