Investigation by multiple agencies has led to federal drug charges and to the arrest of a Pembroke man.
Hopkinsville police say in the summer of 2022, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Paducah Post, HPD, and the 19th Judicial Drug Task Force of Clarksville initiated a drug trafficking investigation regarding 45-year old Morgan Hancock, Jr.
The investigation led to a federal search warrant at Hancock’s residence in Pembroke and other locations involving Hancock.
Investigators reportedly seized approximately two kilos of cocaine, three firearms, including one that had been reported stolen, and over $75,000 in cash.
Earlier this month, Hancock was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, felon in possession of firearm, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Thursday, investigators with DEA Paducah Post of Duty, and Hopkinsville Police Department Crime Suppression Unit located and arrested Hancock in Hopkinsville on the active federal arrest warrant.
Police say they located a large amount of cash and a handgun during the arrest. Additional arrests are anticipated as this investigation continues, according to a news release.
