Man arrested for alleged armed robbery

An investigation into an alleged armed robbery Tuesday night on Dogwood Drive led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville man.

The 19-year old male victim told Hopkinsville police that 21-year old Jacob Williams of Hopkinsville pulled a silver gun on him and took his phone and money about 8 p.m. in the 200 block of Dogwood.

Williams gave officers consent to search his home and while the case that had been on the victim’s phone was located, the phone and cash were not found.

An arrest citation says several BB guns were also found in the home, but not a gun that the victim could identify as the one used in the robbery.

Williams was arrested on a first-degree robbery charge and had a promoting contraband count added after jail personnel reported finding a rock of methamphetamine on his person during a search at the jail.
