An Owensboro man was killed after an anhydrous ammonia tank trailer became detached from a truck and struck his vehicle Thursday near Livermore.
Kentucky State Police say 33-year-old Blake Hamilton of Utica was southbound on the US 431 Green River bridge in a pickup with two anhydrous tanks in-tow. One of the tanks became unhooked and veered into a pickup operated by 64-year old James Heifner of Owensboro, who was traveling northbound.
Heifner was taken by helicopter to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, where he later died.
Hamilton was not injured in the crash.
