Attorneys still awaiting special prosecutor appointment in McHenry Street murder

Lawyers are still waiting for the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office to appoint a special prosecutor before a new trial date can be scheduled for Robert Torian, the suspect in the 2019 fatal shooting of Terrill Moore on McHenry Street in Hopkinsville.

A hearing had been scheduled for Monday morning in Christian Circuit Court for Torian, but court officials said it was canceled due to the lack of a special prosecutor.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen recently requested the AG to appoint someone due to a conflict in her office and defense attorney James Chamberlain said last week he was eager for that to happen to schedule trial as quickly as possible—as he believes they can prove Torian’s innocence.

Torian is charged with murder for allegedly shooting and killing Moore during an argument that began inside a car on McHenry Street in August of 2019.
