One killed, one flown to Nashville hospital in Calloway Co. crash

One person is dead and another badly injured following a two-vehicle crash in Calloway County Wednesday morning.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a head-on collision between a car and a box truck on Highway 121 North around 10 a.m. Wednesday. The driver of the box truck, Donald Wallace of Calvert City, told deputies he had been northbound when a passenger car swerved into his path and he was unable to avoid a collision.

Both vehicles collided and went off the roadway. The driver of the passenger car, Dorothy Tucker of Murray, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Calloway County Coroner.

The passenger in the vehicle, Patricia Dunalp of Murray, was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville due to the extent of her injuries.
