Tennessee man dies after boats collide on Kentucky Lake

A Tennessee man drowned Friday evening in Kentucky Lake.

It happened about 5 p.m. Friday near the West Sandy portion of the lake in Henry County, Tennessee, with the TWRA saying a Triton boat and a Javelin boat collided and ejected all occupants into the water.

Two occupants were able to return to their boats, but the operator of the Javelin boat—39-year old TJ Long of Dresden, Tennessee—was missing.

Several local fishermen responded to assist the boaters.

The TWRA used a remote operating vehicle to locate and recover Long’s body.

It marked the fourth boating-related fatality in Tennessee already this year.
