Spring Training Continues

>>Reds Beat Padres; Play Cubs Today

(Goodyear, AZ)  — The Reds beat the Padres 10-9 in Cactus League action.  Luke Weaver got the start and gave up two earned runs over three innings pitched.  Austin Hendrick crushed a homer while Spencer Steer drove in two runs.  Cincinnati will play the Cubs today in Mesa.

(Mesa, AZ)  — The Cubs took down Team Canada 11-7 in Spring Training yesterday.  Cody Bellinger went two-for-three with a home run and two RBI during the victory, and Tucker Barnhart also went yard.  Jameson Taillon starts for Chicago against the Reds this afternoon.

>>Cardinals Blank Yankees

(Tampa, FL)  — The Cardinals surrendered just four hits during a 4-0 win over the New York Yankees in Spring Training yesterday.  Jake Woodford picked up the win after starting the game and tossing four scoreless innings.  Brendan Donovan hit a home run and had three RBI, while top-prospect Jordan Walker went two-for-four and is now hitting .429 this Spring.  The Cardinals improved to 7-and-4 in exhibition play.  They take on Team Nicaragua this afternoon.

>>Braves Continue Spring Training

(North Port, FL)  — The Braves are ready to resume Grapefruit League action.  Atlanta is set to visit the Toronto Blue Jays this afternoon in Dunedin.  Atlanta had yesterday off following a 10-2 loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.  The Braves are sitting at 4-5-and-2 this spring.  MLB-dot-com is reporting that starting pitcher Mike Soroka could return to game action soon as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
