Rounding the Spring Training Bases

>>Cubs Beat Mariners
(Peoria, AZ) — The Cubs earned a 6-2 win over the Seattle Mariners in Spring Training yesterday. Eric Hosmer and Christopher Morel both had an RBI in the victory. Hayden Wesneski earned the win giving up just one unearned run in two-and-two-thirds innings. Chicago improved to 7-and-4 in exhibition play. The Cubs go up against the Rangers today.

(Jupiter, FL) — The Cardinals scored six second-inning runs en route to a 7-1 win over the Houston Astros in Spring Training yesterday. Dylan Carlson had a home run with two RBI in the victory, and Juan Yepez also drove in two runs. Jack Flaherty earned the win after giving up one run in three innings, and Steven Matz tossed three hitless innings of relief. St. Louis improved to 6-and-3 in exhibition play. The Cardinals go up against the Tigers today.

(Goodyear, AZ) — The Reds smothered the Rockies 6-1 in Goodyear. Chase Anderson was sharp in his start as he struck out five batters over two innings of work. Jason Vosler, Allan Cerda and Christian Encarnacion-Strand each blasted home runs in the victory. Cincinnati plays the Giants in Goodyear today.

>>Braves Continue Spring Training
(North Port, FL) — The Braves are resuming their Grapefruit League action. Atlanta took yesterday off after falling to the Yankees on Sunday. The Braves have a 4-4-and-2 record this spring. Matt Olson has been excellent at the plate with three home runs in just 12 at-bats. The Braves host the Boston Red Sox tonight at CoolToday Park.
