Christian County Public School System facilities mostly fared well in Friday’s severe weather, with only a few relatively minor issues.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel appeared Tuesday morning on WHOP and said damage to a baseball dugout at Hopkinsville High and some fence damage were the worst of the issues for the district.
Students were able to return to school after being off Friday for the weather and Bentzel says high school juniors were taking the ACT college entrance exam Tuesday.
Last week the school board voted to purchase Motorola weapons detection devices for both high school and the Bluegrass Learning Academy and Bentzel says the first shipment with three of the machines could arrive as soon as next week.
