Spring Training Continues

>>Reds Tie With Athletics; Play White Sox Tomorrow

(Goodyear, AZ)  — Meanwhile, the Reds return to the diamond for spring training today.  Cincinnati squares off against the White Sox in Phoenix.  The team is coming off a 14-14 tie with the Athletics where Christian Encarnacion-Strand blasted a grand slam as part of a 10 run eighth inning.

(Mesa, AZ)  — The Cubs earned a 6-1 win over the Oakland Athletics in Spring Training.  Ian Happ had two hits and an RBI in the victory, while Marcus Stroman struck out four over two-and-a-third scoreless innings.  Chicago improved to 3-and-4 in exhibition play.  The Cubs take on the Padres tonight.

>>Cardinals Get Blanked By Astros

(Jupiter, FL)  — The Cardinals managed just three hits during a 6-0 loss to the Houston Astros in Spring Training.  Adam Wainwright gave up three runs on five hits in three inning to get tagged with the loss.  The Cardinals dropped to 3-and-2 in exhibition play, and they send Miles Mikolas to the rubber against Miami today.

>>Braves Continue Spring Training

(North Port, FL)  — The Braves are continuing their Grapefruit League action.  Atlanta defeated the New York Mets 6-2 in Port St. Lucie yesterday.  Ryan Casteel and Eli White both homered in the win.  The Braves improved to 2-2-and-2 this spring.  They will visit the Houston Astros this afternoon in Palm Beach.  In other team news, The Athletic is reporting that Ozzie Albies plans to steal more bases this season due to new pickoff throw limits and increased base size.  On the injury front, reliever Tyler Matzek is recovering from a bulging disc in his back.
