Flooding, severe weather and gusty winds will be possible through Friday evening in western Kentucky.
A Flood Watch is in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday until noon Friday for much of western Kentucky, including Hopkins, Trigg and counties to the west. The entire region could see two to three inches of rain, with isolated higher amounts of four inches or more.
Standing water will be a threat everywhere so motorists are reminded to turn around, don’t drown.
Meanwhile, gusty winds will be present outside of any thunderstorms.
A Wind Advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday.
Sustained southwest winds could be as high as 30 mph and gusts could reach 50 mph.
Christian, Todd, Muhlenberg and Logan counties are under an enhanced risk for severe weather Friday, while the remainder of the region is under a slight risk. While damaging winds will be the primary threat, a few isolated tornadoes will be possible.
