An investigation Wednesday by Hopkinsville police led to the arrest of a man on a robbery charge.
Officers were notified of a robbery in the 300 block of Kaui King Drive about 11 a.m. and the victim told police that 24-year old Devontae’ Greenwade of Hopkinsville had assaulted her and then fled the scene with her cell phone.
Investigators went to a Laurel Cove residence where Greenwade was thought to have gone and observed his car pulling into the apartment complex.
It was driven by his brother, but Greenwade was allegedly hiding in the trunk.
A search of the trunk allegedly revealed the stolen phone in the top of the trunk near the speakers.
Greenwade was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery and tampering with evidence.
