Elkton woman arrested for Logan County burglary

An Elkton woman was arrested early Thursday morning for a burglary in Logan County.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a burglary in progress at a home in the 200 block of Harry Clayton Johnson Road about 12:20 a.m., as a neighbor saw someone going into a home where no one had permission to be inside.

An arriving deputy found 39-year old Patricia Gale Shelton of Elkton coming out of the front door.

The homeowner confirmed Shelton didn’t have permission to be in the house and a search of her person allegedly revealed two debit cards in her pocket that she admitted to stealing.

Shelton was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, theft of a debit card, theft by unlawful taking, driving with an expired license and possession of burglary tools.
