Parts of western Kentucky are now under a Flood Watch, including Trigg, Hopkins and counties to the west.
It’s in effect from Thursday evening through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah, with moderate to heavy rain will overspread the region starting Thursday evening. Rainfall totals of 2-to-3 inches are forecast. Localized higher amounts in excess of 4 inches are possible. This amount of rain may cause flooding of low water crossings, creeks, and streams and the usual poor drainage areas.
Stay tuned to the WHOP Family of Stations for any further watches or warnings, and remember when you encounter standing water—turn around, don’t drown.
