Week 5 of the 2023 session of the Kentucky General Assembly begins Monday and several issues that have drawn statewide media attention remain on the table.
Legislation legalizing medical marijuana in certain circumstances has been filed in the Senate and Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke is hopeful to see some movement on it this week.
Senator Whitney Westerfield isn’t sure if the medical marijuana bill has the support to get to the floor this week, but says he’ll continue pushing for it to happen.
Representative Walker Thomas expects legislation that would ban so-called “gray machines,” which are similar to slot machines and that can be found in some convenience stores, to possibly move in the House this week.
