Bond motion denied for assault suspect

A motion to modify the bond for assault first suspect Chad Love was denied in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.

Love is accused of stabbing a female victim in the eye with a broom handle, causing serious physical injury, but his attorney argued in court that the victim has stated it was a misunderstanding. Judge Andrew Self says there’s no denying that the victim was stabbed in the eye and he finds the charges very concerning—so he denied the motion.

Medical personnel say that if more force had been used, the handle would have entered her brain and killed her. Another pretrial hearing was set for March 22 at 1 p.m.
