Murder suspect arraigned in Christian Circuit Court

The man charged in connection with the March 2022 death of an infant was arraigned in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.

Alexander Heck is charged with first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence and is represented by defense attorney Michael Thompson, who entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf and says he intends to file a bond motion soon.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling says it’s likely that a new commonwealth’s attorney won’t be appointed and ready to serve on cases until about March 15, so a pretrial hearing was set for March 22.

The indictment alleges he “wantonly engaged in conduct” that led to the victim’s death on March 1 of last year. Heck is also accused of tampering with evidence by concealing, removing or altering evidence that he believed was about to be used in an official proceeding.
