The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a westbound work zone lane restriction on Interstate 24 in Trigg County starting Thursday.
The lane restriction along I-24 westbound will be from about the 69 to 68 mile-marker near the Trigg-Christian County line and it’s to allow maintenance work to stabilize the shoulder area that may be impacting some concrete pavement slabs along the driving lane.
Westbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 69 mile-marker. All traffic will move to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone.
Due to excavations along the shoulder area, this work zone will remain up around the clock until the work is completed.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. Motorists should be aware of trucks hauling material into and out of the shoulder area. Some minor delays are possible due to the movement and positioning of equipment to facilitate the work.
This work zone lane restriction is expected to be in place for about one week.
