An arrest warrant for felony theft was served Thursday against a Hopkinsville man.
It alleges that in August of last year, 40-year old Billy Tomlinson falsely claimed to own a home at 1820 South Virginia Street and entered into an agreement to sell it to a victim on a payment basis.
Tomlinson allegedly collected $15,000 from the victim and then ended all contact.
Investigation determined that Tomlinson did not own the property.
Tomlinson was arrested and charged with felony theft by deception (over $10,000).
