Around 130 personnel with the 1st Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment are set to return from deployment this Saturday, having completed their support for Operation Inherent Resolve.
According to a news release, during their nine-month deployment, soldiers work alongside, with and through regional partners to militarily defeat ISIS. From June 2022 to March 2023, 1st Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment “Task Force No Mercy” deployed to the Central Command Area of Operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield. During this period, they provided lethal combat power to the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve across Iraq and Syria.
Commander Colonel Clint Cody says, “We’re thrilled to have Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment return home to their loved ones after a long 9-month deployment to the Middle East. Their hard work and sacrifice are a testament to their dedication to the Wings of Destiny brigade, the 101st Airborne Division, and this country.”
