Man served with indictment warrant for murder charge

A Hopkinsville man has been indicted for murder in connection with the March, 2022 death of an infant.

Few details are listed on the indictment returned Friday against 22-year old Alexander Heck of Hopkinsville, which alleges he “wantonly engaged in conduct” that led to the victim’s death on March 1 of last year.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling says the 16-month old victim died as a result of blunt force trauma.

Heck is also accused of tampering with evidence by concealing, removing or altering evidence that he believed was about to be used in an official proceeding.

Heck was served with the indictment warrant Monday night at the Christian County Jail and is lodged on a $500,000 bond.
