Community and Development Services is asking citizens of Christian County who have storm shelters to let them know their locations so emergency responders will be prepared to better and more quickly respond in the event of a natural disaster.
A news release says when conducting search and rescue efforts, emergency personnel are better equipped to conduct a more thorough investigation when they are aware of the presence of storm shelters that may not be readily visible.
Citizens can participate by contacting Community and Development Services and providing the location of storm shelters. One can contact Residential Building Inspector Rusty Pyle by phone at 270-887-4285 or email rpyle@comdev-servies.com.
Community and Development Services personnel will map the location by global positioning system so that information can be utilized by disaster emergency services personnel.
