Two people were arrested for criminal abuse charges early Wednesday morning after a small child was found walking alone on Greenville Road.
Hopkinsville police received a call about 1:30 a.m. of a 4-year old child roaming the streets alone in the area of Coffman Foods near Greenville Road and East First Street and the boy was found wearing only a diaper.
A bystander located the child and contacted police.
An arrest citation for 26-year old Alicea Curtis of Hopkinsville says she is the mother and told officers it was the second time in 24 hours the boy had gotten out, adding that he’s autistic.
Curtis claimed the child was being watched by 26-year old Madison Osborne of Clarksville, who reportedly told police she was asleep and unaware of the child being in her care.
Both women were arrested and charged with criminal abuse in the first-degree.
