A teenager is facing several charges after he allegedly led the Christian County Sheriff’s Office on a high-speed pursuit Monday night while driving a stolen vehicle.
A deputy investigating suspicious activity and theft of a vehicle from a location in Crofton noticed a car in the parking lot of Gordon Park just before 10 p.m. and turned into the entrance.
An arrest citation says that’s when the 15-year old male driver sped off, running stop signs at Old Madisonville Road and East Princeton Street before turning onto East Princeton and then Madisonville Road.
He allegedly reached speeds of 100 mph before eventually running off the road in the area of T. Sparkman Road.
The teen fled on foot, but was soon captured in a wood line and taken into custody.
He reportedly admitted to deputies that he stole the 2013 Chevy Cruze earlier in the day in Crofton, saying the keys had been left in the vehicle.
The male was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of a busted lip from the wreck and then taken into custody on a juvenile custody order.
He’s charged with theft of an automobile, fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief and several traffic violations.
