The City of Hopkinsville received a clean audit, with the report presented to Hopkinsville City Council Tuesday evening.
Kelly Webb with York, Neel and Associates took the time to explain the auditing process and what items and information they use to formulate the audit and how they come to their conclusion. She says the City did receive a ‘clean’ opinion, which is what you want in an audit.
City Administrator Troy Body says their financial department always does a great job when it comes to the annual audit, and they’ll be taking a deeper dive into the financials as the begin the budget creation process.
Councilmember Travis Martin was selected to serve as Presiding Officer over City Council meetings in the event the mayor is unable to be present. Three new officers were sworn-in for the Hopkinsville Police Department—Peter Scherm, Johnathan Knight and Dendreck Holmes.
Following a closed session, council approved ratifying an agreement for sale of real estate between the City and DDL10, LLC.
