With freezing rain expected to create a glaze of ice in Western Kentucky this afternoon and tonight, the National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 3 p.m. today until 9 a.m. tomorrow.
The forecast calls for up to two-tenths of an inch of ice and while that should not create widespread power outages, it would certainly be enough to cause travel difficulties across the region.
All of Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee is in the Winter Weather Advisory and Western Tennessee is under an Ice Storm Warning.
Another chance of a wintry mix will move into the area Tuesday afternoon and evening, though precipitation amounts should be less in that storm system.
