Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight Jr. is accepting applications for the City of Hopkinsville’s fifth City Diplomat Program.
According to a news release, adult residents of Christian County and business owners interested in participating in the program are encouraged to apply. Becoming a City Diplomat gives citizens the opportunity to learn how to make municipal government work for them, gain knowledge of local government, and have the opportunity to support their community through service, promotion and volunteerism.
Sessions include classroom settings, demonstrations, and hands-on activities—it will be held at 6 p.m. starting March 1st and then continuing April 12th, May 3rd, June 7th and August 2nd.
Mayor Knight says, “We are excited to continue offering citizens the opportunity to learn about the City of Hopkinsville and how local government works. We hope this program provides citizens a better understanding of how to get things done in our community.”
The deadline to apply is February 17 at 4:30 p.m. Applications must be completed in their entirety and are available online at hoptown.org or at the Hopkinsville Municipal Building.
