State Senator Whitney Westerfield is putting out the call for local youths to participate in this year’s Kentucky General Assembly Military Kids Day at the State Capitol.
Military Kids Day allows children of military families to see state government at work and Westerfield is inviting any of those children from his district in Christian, Muhlenberg or Caldwell counties to attend.
Those families can download an application at legislature.ky.gov and then email it to Donna.Holliday@lrc.ky.gov.
Participants will meet at the Capitol Rotunda between 8:15 and 8:30 Eastern Time on Thursday, Feb. 16 and they will receive a tour, lunch and have an opportunity to serve as page for their senator or representative.
The deadline to register is Monday, Feb. 13.
