(Undated)  — Kentucky visits Vanderbilt. Pre-Game at 6:30 on 98.7 Lite FM. The Wildcats improved to 13-and-6 after beating Texas A-and-M over the weekend.  The Commodores won a close game against Georgia and are 10-and-9.  Tennessee is cracking the top five in the latest coaches poll rankings after a big win over LSU.  The fourth-ranked Vols are 16-and-3 and will host Georgia tomorrow night.  Louisville lost to Pitt in its last game.  The Cardinals have lost eight straight games and are 2-and-17.  They’ll play Boston College on the road tomorrow.  Memphis took down Cincinnati in its last game.  The Tigers are 15-and-5 and will host SMU on Thursday.

Oscar Tshiebwe Named SEC Player of the Week

Kentucky men’s basketball senior Oscar Tshiebwe earned Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday after averaging 22 points and 20.5 rebounds in wins over Georgia and Texas A&M last week. The award is the second weekly SEC honor for a Wildcat after Cason Wallace garnered SEC Freshman of the Week honors on Dec. 27. It is the third weekly conference honor of Tshiebwe’s career after picking up two a season ago. Tshiebwe put together a performance for the ages in the come-from-behind victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday, pouring in a career-best 37 points while grabbing 24 boards, before going for seven points and a game-high 17 boards in the win over Texas A&M on Saturday.

Hale earns second-straight ASUN Newcomer of the Week honor

After averaging 20.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in a pair of wins last week, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball graduate student Shamarre Hale earned her second-straight ASUN Newcomer of the Week honor, Monday.
