Christian County Public School System Superintendent Chris Bentzel says the district is focused on student achievement and is benefitting from not having to miss any days so far this year due to winter weather.
Appearing Tuesday morning on WHOP, Bentzel says not missing any days in January is rare in western Kentucky and he hopes that trend continues.
He’s hopeful that consistency will benefit student achievement and learning.
Steps were announced by the district last week toward having high school sports consolidated by the beginning of the 2024-25 school year, including Christian County High School stepping up to the largest classification for football in the coming year, with Bentzel saying he’s hopeful the district will be in a place for athletics to merge by fall of 2024.
He reminded that the State of the Schools breakfast is Tuesday morning at 7:30 at the Bruce Convention Center, with anyone planning to attend urged to RSVP with the Christian County Chamber of Commerce.
