A Christian County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments Friday, including for first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.
Indicted for first-degree assault domestic violence and third-degree terroristic threatening is 47-year-old Chad Love of Hopkinsville. Love is accused of stabbing a female victim in the eye with a broom handle while threatening her, causing a severe injury that required hospital treatment. Medical personnel say that if more force had been used, the handle would have entered her brain and killed her.
The grand jury indicted 53-year-old Anthony McCoggle of Hopkinsville for first-degree robbery, alleging he entered Jersey Mikes on December 3, told employees he had a gun in his pocket and demanded cash. He then reportedly fled the store on foot with money from the register.
McCoggle had already been a wanted fugitive for allegedly cutting off his ankle monitor after being released from jail while awaiting trial for attempted rape and strangulation charges.
Thirty-seven-year-old Michael McGregor of Hopkinsville was indicted for second-degree assault. The indictment alleges that on August 9, McGregor punched a man multiple times, struck him with a chair and made threats to kill him if he pressed charges.
