Kentucky Falls to South Carolina on Tuesday 71-68

Tuesday night’s game against South Carolina was an uphill climb for Kentucky. The Cats started off slowly and spent the rest of the game trying to catch up. Oscar Tshiebwe led Kentucky with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Fredrick added 14 points, Reeves had 13 and Wheeler scored 10. South Carolina (8-8, 1-2) got a game-high 26 points from Meechie Johnson. The Cats were shorthanded on Tuesday, with senior forward Jacob Toppin missing the entire game due to a shoulder injury. In the first half, freshman guard Cason Wallace injured his back and would miss the entire second half.

Cardinals Set for Visit to First-Place Clemson

Louisville men’s basketball breaks up its homestand Wednesday with an ACC visit to first-place Clemson at 9 p.m. ET. The game will air on Regional Sports Networks (RSN). The Cardinals most recently fell 80-72 at home to Wake Forest on Saturday after a furious comeback attempt. Clemson edged Pitt 75-74 on the road to stay undefeated in league play and claim sole possession of first place in the conference. Louisville is 8-4 all-time against Clemson, but just 1-4 on the road. The Cardinals won the last meeting at home on Feb. 19 of last season, breaking a string of two straight victories by the Tigers in the series.

Tops Visit Blazers in Birmingham

After earning its first league win, WKU Hilltopper Basketball will look to keep momentum rolling in its direction as it travels to UAB on Wednesday night. The 8 p.m. CT game will be televised on CBS Sports Network. The Hilltoppers most recently won at UTSA on Saturday, 74-64, snapping their five-game losing streak. UAB lost both games in its Florida road swing last week, falling to Florida Atlantic 88-86 and FIU 90-87 in overtime.

Lady Toppers Host UAB for Education Game

WKU women’s basketball will host UAB on Wednesday afternoon at 11 a.m. for an Education Game. Children from local schools will be brought in to take in the action from E.A. Diddle Arena.

Racers, Bruins Tangle At the Bank Wednesday

Former Ohio Valley Conference rivals turned Missouri Valley Conference rivals will meet Wednesday when the Murray State women’s basketball team welcomes Belmont to the CFSB Center at 6 p.m. The game will air nationally on ESPN+ as part of the MVC’s “The Valley on ESPN” package.

Brilliant Racers Run Fades In Loss At UNI

The Murray State Racers couldn’t finish off what was a great performance for 32 minutes in a 75-67 loss Tuesday to the UNI Panthers at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Racers (9-8) fell to 4-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference, while Northern Iowa (9-8) improved to 5-2. The Racers are home Saturday (Jan. 14) at 3 p.m. to host the UIC Flames on Cameron Payne Day at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The Murray State hall of famer and current player with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns will have his jersey No. 1 retired at halftime. Rob Perry scored 17 of his 22 points in the second half, Jamari Smith added 16 points, while JaCobi Wood added 13.

(Undated)  — Kentucky will head to Knoxville to play fifth-ranked Tennessee Saturday afternoon.  The Vols cruised to victory against Vanderbilt 77-68.  Tennessee is now 14-and-2.  The Commodores dropped to 8-and-8 and will host Number-16 Arkansas on Saturday. Memphis beat East Carolina in its last game.  The Tigers improved to 12-and-4 and are also on the road playing UCF tonight.
