A spectacular night for basketball on Friday night as UHA visited Christian County in girls basketball action.
The Lady Colonels might have walked away victorious, 67-43, but both teams played valiantly.
It was a tough night to get in any kind of rhythm for both teams. More than fifteen fouls combined in each half, the game was spent at the charity stripe and the line is where it was decided.
UHA missed more than twenty free throws and obviously while that cannot be said to be the difference, because you never know, but it certainly would have changed the way the game was played and went down the stretch.
Beyond the free throw line, when both teams could operate in a back and forth, rhythmic fashion, they were so fun to watch. The Lady Colonels Anaysia Bagwell and NeVaeh Day combined for fifty of their teams sixty-seven points. Day also had twenty rebounds, a 20-20 game, that is rarified air.
The Lady Blazers meanwhile saw Alecia Davis and Kennedy Quarles operate so in sync with Davis on the drive and Quarles raining threes. Both had double digits and looked more than capable of helping carry their team to a serious run down the stretch.
Next up both teams in action Saturday. The Lady Colonels try and make it two in a row facing Ohio County, while the Lady Blazers attempt to bounce back against Crittenden County.
