Wildcats Take On the Lady Bulldogs in Athens on Thursday

The Wildcats will go back on the road to continue their Southeastern Conference schedule, as Kentucky takes on Georgia in Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia, on Thursday, Jan. 5 for a 7 p.m. ET tip time. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network, with Eric Frede and Tamika Catchings on the call. The two teams will meet for the 61st time in the all-time series, with the Wildcats winning eight of the last 10 meetings with the Lady Bulldogs, including four of the last five. The Cats have also won the last four meetings in Stegeman Coliseum.

Cardinals Open Homestand Against Georgia Tech

The NR/RV Louisville women’s basketball team starts off a quick, two-game homestand on Thursday when they welcome Georgia Tech to the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals (11-5, 2-1) and Yellow Jackets (9-5, 0-3) are going to square off at 8 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast nationally on the ACC Network. Louisville has won its last 12 ACC games at home, dating back to the 2020-21 season.

Hailey Van Lith continues her great play this season after scoring 23 points on 11-of-21 shooting against Duke last Sunday. It was her second-straight 20-point game and the ninth time she has scored 20 or more this season. She has scored 20 or more points in each of the Cardinals three ACC games this season and is averaging 22.3 points in those games. She is the first Louisville player to score 20 or more points in each of the first three ACC games of the season since the Cards joined the league. She is the first player to score 20 or more points in each of the first three conference games in a season since Angel McCoughtry during the 2008-09 season.

Van Lith Named to Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List

University of Louisville guard Hailey Van Lith was named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced on Wednesday night. Chosen by a poll of national college basketball experts based on their performances during the 2022-23 season thus far, the list is comprised of 25 student-athletes who are front-runners for the sport’s most prestigious honor.

Lady Toppers Tipoff 2023 at North Texas

WKU women’s basketball faces North Texas in the first game of 2023 on Thursday, Jan. 5 in Denton, Texas. The game is set for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff.

WKU Plays First Game of 2023 against the Mean Green

WKU Hilltopper Basketball searches for its first league win on Thursday night, taking on North Texas at home in E.A. Diddle Arena at 8 p.m. CT. The game will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network. The Hilltoppers most recently fell 65-60 at Middle Tennessee on Saturday afternoon. North Texas is coming off a home 72-57 win over FIU. WKU leads the all-time series 23-8 against the Mean Green, but has lost the last three contests. Its last win over North Texas was on Jan. 2, 2019. Head coach Rick Stansbury is 6-3 all-time against the Mean Green.

Racers Run Past Bradley – Anderson Reaches 1000 Career Points

The Murray State Racers ran past the Bradley Braves Wednesday night 67-58 to push their mark in the Missouri Valley Conference to 4-1. The Racers (9-6) have won back-to-back games and improved to 5-1 this season at their home court in the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky. DJ Burns scored 16 points and hauled in 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season and Brian Moore, Jr., produced his best game as a Racer with 10 points off the bench. Jacobi Wood and Rob Perry each added 10 points as the Racers enjoyed a victory in which eight players scratched the scoring column. In a season of firsts, the Racers now prepare for their first trip to the Hawkeye State to take on Drake (Jan. 7) and Northern Iowa (Jan. 10). Quincy Anderson’s chase to be a career 1,000-point scorer saw him reach the magic number with an offensive rebound and score with 15:26 remaining in the game.

Racers Head North For Iowa Two-Step

The Murray State women’s basketball team embarks on their maiden MVC voyage to Iowa Friday to take on UNI at the McCleod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa at 6 p.m. The game will be a battle of teams undefeated in the MVC, as both the Racers and the Panthers swept their opening weekend of Valley games.

Govs continue ASUN play against Kennesaw State, Thursday

Coming off a dominant win in its ASUN Conference opener, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball concludes a two-game road swing in a 6 p.m. (CT), Thursday game against Kennesaw State at the KSU Convocation Center in Kennesaw, Georgia. Austin Peay (6-5, 1-0 ASUN) defeated fellow ASUN newcomer Queens, 62-43, Monday, while Kennesaw State (4-8, 0-1 ASUN) dropped their conference opener at Eastern Kentucky, 87-72. The Governors have won a season-best three-straight games and look to match their longest winning streak under head coach Brittany Young with a win against the Owls. A win also would secure the Govs’ first three-game road winning streak of the season and second under Young’s tutelage.

Austin Peay begins three-game homestand Thursday

The Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team hosts Florida Gulf Coast at 7 p.m. CT, Thursday, in the first of three-straight ASUN Conference games inside the Winfield Dunn Center.

(Undated)  — College basketball returns on Saturday.  Number-25 Kentucky will hit the road to play Number-7 Alabama.  The Wildcats are now 11-and-4 after a close win over LSU.  Number-9 Tennessee is coming off a convincing win over Mississippi State.  The Vols improved to 13-and-2 and will play South Carolina on the road.  Vanderbilt edged South Carolina in overtime.  The Commodores improved to 9-and-6 and will travel to 21st-ranked Missouri.  Louisville lost a close game to Syracuse.  The Cardinals are now 2-and-14 and will host Wake Forest on Saturday.  Memphis is coming off a loss to Tulane.  The Tigers dropped to 11-and-4 and will host East Carolina.
