Area to return to tranquil, seasonal weather pattern after rain

With no more severe weather in the forecast, the weather should be relatively tranquil and seasonal for the remainder of this week.

Meteorologist Derrick Snyder with the National Weather Service in Paducah talked about the flooding issues Western Kentucky experienced Tuesday morning during the weekly conference call, noting there was a swath of enhanced rainfall amounts from Murray to Muhlenberg County.

Snyder doesn’t expect any additional severe storms or tornadoes this week and says it’ll be dry with near normal temperatures for the remainder of the work week.

Next week is looking to feature above normal temperatures and about average precipitation, according to the long-term outlook.

Snyder says forecasters don’t expect any flooding in any of Western Kentucky’s major rivers from the recent rainfall.
