The Kentucky League of Cities has presented Senator Whitney Westerfield with a 2022 Friend of Kentucky Cities Award.
According to a news release, the award is presented to legislators who advocate and legislate bills that help Kentucky cities be successful. Senator Westerfield sponsored Senate Bill 176, a KLC initiative that will help cities contemplating using facial recognition technology.
Westerfield says, “I am proud and honored to be recognized as a ‘Friend of Kentucky Cities.’ Local government is the form of government most people know. It is what most directly impacts their community and daily lives. I am proud to help the city officials in the 3rd District in any way I can as they work to ensure safe, vibrant communities.”
